Elastic in SOILTEX

28th of Apr 2014

Have you ever used an Elastic Band to prevent a box from opening?
Did you notice that this band after a short time just lost all its elasticity and broke in pieces?
Did you also notice the thinner the elastic band is the sooner it breaks? There is ALOT of elastic fabrics using fine fibres being manufactured - this fabric is used for stretch jeans etc. This means that there is waste created by the worldwide manufacturing process - this waste has become a mountain of a problem and has been made available to textile recycling companies FREE OF CHARGE with a "please take it" approach.
Not having many useful purposes it can be easy mixed in with arena surface material.   This product has a higher density than polyester, therefore it will increase weight easily. It has absolutely no elastic properties left - when mixed with sand it will disintegrate quickly and turns into a very fine dust.
Our SOILTEX arena surface DOES NOT consist of any of these  elastic fibres and maintains to be a high quality arena surface.
